As a followup to the Arts & Culture Summit, MATV, Malden’s Media Center, the City of Malden, and the Malden Redevelopment Authority will host a reception at 5:30pm, Wednesday, August 14, 2019, to share in detail what is coming to Pleasant Street and the opportunities and spaces this opens up for artists, performers, businesses, cultural representatives, and all players in the creative economy. This reception is free and open to anyone interested in engaging in the creative economy of Malden. MATV recently won first place in the “Access Center Promo” category for “It’s a Wonderful Life … in Malden,” produced in 2016. The award was part of the Video Festival of the Alliance for Community Media Northeast Region which attracts of hundreds of entries in a variety of categories from the Northeastern states.
Featuring MATV staff and many members of the Malden community, the 14-minute film is a takeoff of the original Frank Capra classic, with MATV, Malden’s Media Center, at the center of it.
