On October 7, 2020 at 7pm, 67 people attended MATV/UMA’s first virtual annual meeting. Aside from announcing the winning candidate for the open Membership Board seat, Karen Lynch, we reflected with video and photos on the past year and hinted about future developments.

Sergiu Parfeni, outgoing board member, is a community minded entrepreneur. He and his wife Evelina own and manage the wonderful Bikeeny Caffe on Summer Street in Malden. Great coffee, delicious Moldavian pastries, warm hospitality, and a chance to meet folks in the community. Their business and demeanor is an asset to Malden!!!!

Karen Lynch was voted in as the new Board member representing the MATV/UMA membership. She has been a member of MATV for many years. During that time, she has volunteered extensively running camera for various productions, events, and community affairs. She has written numerous articles in Neighborhoodview, particularly on topics of social justice and equity. As a key member of the Senior Action group, she advocates for policy and rights affecting senior well being.
