Malden Access TV is a collaborative partner in the new community reading program that kicked off in January, 2011. The “One City, One Book” program seeks to engage the Malden community in reading the same book selection, afterwards encouraging participation in a variety of events and activities, all centered around the themes of the book. The book selection for this year is The Soloist by Steve Lopez. For younger (K-8) readers, age appropriate books with similar themes were chosen so that EVERYONE can take part in this community-building program. MATV is creating video promos for the project. We will be covering the various events and activities, and creating new related programs such as an on-air book discussion and a children’s read-aloud TV program.
