YouthTube Begins at MATV

YouthTube is a new afterschool program for youth between the ages of 11 and 14 that begins at MATV on March 20^th. This exciting new project will begin as a 10-week course to be held on Fridays from 3:45pm – 5:45 pm at our studios located at 145 Pleasant St in the heart of downtown Malden Square. Participants will learn all the aspects of video production, including portable camera set-up and operations; editing, studio production, lighting, directing and audio recording.

 

The goal of the program is to have give the youth a chance to shoot, edit and produce short video segments that will not only be shown on MATV’s Educational Channel but on YouTube, the popular internet social network that young people are using today. Upon completing the course, each young videographer will become certified producers at MATV and can continue on as part of our ongoing afterschool drop-in program for youth.

 

Here is a chance for middle school students to find their creative voice and share it with others. The cost is $40, which includes a one-year membership to MATV.
