The City of Malden recently lost one of it’s great residents, Howard McGowan, who passed away in mid-July at the age of Ninety-One. This is a sad time for many of my colleagues here at MATV, as most of us got to know him well over the years. He was a consummate advocate for Senior Rights (via his work with Mass Senior Action Council) and a very proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Howard spent his “golden years” not just watching MATV programming, but also helping to make it, as a cameraman for some of our TV shows. It’s obvious that Mr. McGowan meant a lot to the Malden community, considering how many people have been telling us their sweet and touching memories of him. With that being said, I decided to write down a few of my own fond memories of Howard.
