In early 2001, MATV
helped to found Malden's Community Technology Access Coalition (CTAC) -
a
small network of non-profits and individuals comprising: Tri-CAP, Murray
Learning Associates, MATV, Youth Tech Entrepreneurs, The Career Place,
State Representive Christopher G. Fallon & Senior Employment
Services.
CTAC created, and today operates the Cyber Café
@ Malden Square a free walk-in community computing center
& Internet café
positioned to serve the technology needs of the unemployed, working
poor,
new immigrants, seniors, youth, people with disabilities and commuters
on the run.
To date, there are over 3500 community members of the
Cyber Café.
Located in the heart of Malden Square at 3 Pleasant Street,
The Cyber Café is run by a
very small staff and many volunteers. We provide formal classes and
informal training. Our services are free for
everyone including residents, visitors, and commuters. To view current
classes, visit the CyberCafé @ MaldenSquare
website http://maldensquare.org
or call the Cyber Café at
781-393-0575.
The Cyber Café is a member of
the Community Technology Center's
Network.
