Journalism 101: Neighborhood View

Neighborhood View is MATV’s online citizen journalism program. In this introductory class, learn the basics of journalism and what it means to be a reporter in today’s multimedia world. This intensive three-session workshop will review the nuts and bolts of reporting, elements of a good story, differences between hard news and features, finding and quoting sources, and how to write good ledes and headlines.

This will also be the chance to meet other journalists starting out in the program, find out how to get your story uploaded to Neighborhood View, and how to promote the stories you cover. Join journalist and Neighborhood View Coordinator Alex Gentile as he gives you the lowdown. Be sure to visit www.neighborhoodview.org.

Wednesdays, February 15, 22 & March 8 6:30 – 8:30pm

Fee: $25          Instructor: Alex Gentile, Neighborhood View Coordinator
